About This Role

In-house legal counsel for Real Estate matters. Support the General Counsel, Chief of Strategy, Partnerships & Towers, and Senior Director Legal-Towers in real estate legal matters including but not limited to acquisitions, leasing, divestitures, entity projects, litigation, easements, foreclosures, eminent domain, and special projects.

Responsibilities

1. Acquire real estate interests through purchase or lease for the construction of new wireless communication facilities and existing facilities, including drafting, reviewing, and approving leases, amendments, purchase agreements, easements, and other acquisition documents.
2. Provide legal support on post-acquisition issues for existing wireless communication facilities, including managing master lease/license agreements, colocation matters, litigation, default notices, dispute resolution, settlements, lease amendments, and renewals.
3. Review, interpret, and modify existing leases, easements, and other contracts.
4. Provide legal opinions, research, statutory interpretation, and guidance regarding Real Estate matters.
5. Manage outside law firms engaged in Real Estate transactions and litigation.
6. Work with local counsel for representations at zoning hearings and proceedings.
7. Participate in cross-functional teams to secure assets, reduce costs, and support other departments with legal issues.
8. Provide updates on cell site activities, real estate holdings, and transactional documents.
9. Review title commitments, abstracts, opinion letters, surveys, and resolve title issues.

Minimum Requirements

• J.D. degree and license to practice law in any US state.
• 5-10 years of experience in a law firm or real estate/tower company.
• Strong negotiation skills, critical thinking, and persuasion abilities.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Judgment, decision-making, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Active listening and occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Telecommunications Industry is strongly preferred.
