The ideal candidate has extensive property law experience and a strong understanding of East London/Eastern Cape regulation.

Qualifications

  • Admitted Attorney or Advocate with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing real estate law or providing legal counsel in real estate.
  • Extensive knowledge of property law, contract law, and conveyancing.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex real estate agreements.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the East London and Eastern Cape regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate real estate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, and development agreements.
  • Provide legal advice on property acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and zoning issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable national, provincial, and local real estate laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and provide opinions on complex property-related matters.
  • Manage and oversee real estate litigation and dispute resolution processes.
