Job summary

Bain Capital Credit in New York seeks a Vice President to join the Real Estate Debt team. You will evaluate, underwrite, structure and manage investments across real estate credit opportunities, leading transaction execution from diligence through closing.

The role requires 7+ years in real estate private credit or related fields, strong financial modeling, and the ability to lead junior staff and coordinate with borrowers and sponsors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in real estate private credit, CRE lending, or related field.
• Strong underwriting and execution capabilities for complex CRE transactions.
• Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite real estate credit opportunities across asset classes and geographies.
• Lead transaction execution from diligence through closing.
• Assess property fundamentals, sponsorship, business plans, capital structures, and risk.
• Build and maintain financial analyses and investment materials.
• Structure terms including leverage, pricing, covenants, and protections.
• Coordinate due diligence across legal, financial, market, and third parties.
• Present recommendations to senior investment committees.
• Develop relationships with borrowers, sponsors, lenders, and brokers.
• Monitor portfolio and manage amendments, restructurings, or post-closing matters.
• Lead and develop junior investment professionals.
