Bain Capital is seeking a Vice President to join the Credit Real Estate Debt team in New York. The role focuses on evaluating, underwriting, structuring, and managing real estate credit investments across property types and markets.

You will lead transaction execution, work with borrowers and sponsors, and guide junior professionals in underwriting and deal execution. Qualified candidates will have at least 7 years of CRE credit experience, strong modeling skills, and a proven ability to manage

• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to identify investment risks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite real estate credit investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies.
• Lead transaction execution from initial diligence through closing.
• Assess property fundamentals, sponsorship, business plans, capital structures, market dynamics, and downside risk.
• Build and oversee financial analyses, sensitivities, and investment committee materials.
• Structure and negotiate terms, including leverage, pricing, covenants, reserves, and protections.
• Coordinate legal, financial, market, and third-party diligence.
• Present investment recommendations to senior investment professionals and committees.
• Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, sponsors, lenders, brokers, and market participants.
• Monitor portfolio investments and evaluate amendments, extensions, restructurings, and post-closing matters.
• Lead and develop junior investment professionals across underwriting and execution.

The team invests across a broad range of real estate credit opportunities, including senior mortgages, subordinate debt, preferred equity, construction financing, and other structured investments. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may beeligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
