Job summary

Venteon is seeking a Controller for a growing real estate client in Oakland County, MI. The role will oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for communities and corporate entities, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate reporting.

You will own and manage the P&L for each entity, monitor revenues and expenses, and provide forecasting and variance analysis to ownership and property management leadership to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Real Estate or Property Management related experience highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for communities and corporate entities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and property management reporting standards.
• Own and manage the Profit & Loss statements for each entity.
• Monitor revenues, expenses, and net operating income, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
• Provide financial forecasting and variance analysis to ownership and property management leadership.
• Develop cash flow models to support acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing opportunities.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide timely financial analysis to support operational decision-making.
• Other Duties as assigned.
