Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a qualified Real Estate Closing Specialist for our Columbia, SC office. You will manage residential transactions from opening to closing, coordinate with lenders and title companies, and ensure accurate, timely closings for clients.

The role requires 1+ year of closing experience, an Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate, and strong organizational skills. On-site work in Columbia with a collaborative team and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of residential real estate transactions and title processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage residential real estate transactions from opening through closing and post-closing.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize settlement statements, closing disclosures, deeds, affidavits, loan documents, and closing materials.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, title policies, and transaction requirements.
  • Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, title companies, attorneys, and clients to keep transactions moving smoothly.
  • Schedule closings and confirm documentation, funding, and readiness of all parties.
  • Conduct or assist attorneys with in-person and remote residential closings.
  • Coordinate receipt, disbursement, and documentation of closing funds per requirements.
  • Record closing documents and confirm successful recording.
  • Assemble and distribute final closing packages to clients and lenders.
  • Maintain accurate transaction files and closing checklists.
  • Provide timely status updates to attorneys, clients, and participants.
  • Manage multiple closings and deadlines with high accuracy.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Location

Columbia, South Carolina. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the firm's Northeast Columbia office.

Note

Candidates must have at least 1 year of residential real estate closing experience. An Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate is required, and candidates should be comfortable managing multiple transactions, deadlines, closing documents, and communications simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with title insurance, escrow procedures, lender requirements, and closing documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple closings and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal, and client-service communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • SoftPro experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of South Carolina residential real estate and recording requirements preferred.
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
