Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown in Tysons Corner, VA seeks an Audit Senior Associate to lead engagements for real estate clients including REITs and property managers. You will mentor staff and coordinate planning and execution of audits, reviews, and compilations, ensuring quality and client service.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, CPA eligibility, 2–4 years of public accounting experience, and strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required or CPA eligibility preferred.
• Strong communication, project management and leadership skills are essential.
• 2–4 years of public accounting experience, ideally with real estate clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team in planning and executing audits, reviews, and compilations for real estate clients including REITs, developers, and property managers.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of audits, including staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, review workpapers, and provide feedback to the team.
• Collaborate with managers and partners to resolve client issues and provide strategic recommendations.
• Review general ledger accounts and financial statements for reliability and compliance.
• Understand real estate regulations and compliance requirements; manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
