Job summary

A leading staffing firm is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to manage land rights and negotiate leases in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have a BS Degree and a Juris Doctorate, with a minimum of five years of legal experience, particularly in real estate litigation. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential. This is a 6-month contract position that requires an active Alabama State Bar membership.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience practicing law external to APC is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience involving real estate litigation is strongly preferred.
• Member of the Alabama State Bar (active license) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of the Company's fee owned lands and protection of the Company's land rights.
• Assist in the management and resolution of complex surveillance matters involving the Company's fee owned lands.
• Negotiate and draft complex commercial leases and licenses.

Qualifications

• BS Degree required.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school strongly preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience practicing law external to APC strongly preferred.
• Prior experience involving real estate litigation strongly preferred.
• Prior experience drafting/negotiating lease/license agreements preferred.
• Member of Alabama State Bar (active license) preferred.
• Experience with real estate laws, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of real estate practices and principles.
• Ability to think strategically, be innovative, and implement tactics while making timely decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to effectively deal with internal and external business partners/stakeholders while balancing legal, ethical, and political considerations to represent the Company's best interest.
