Job summary

MG Properties is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Asset Management team in the San Diego area. The role focuses on maximizing portfolio performance through financial analysis, forecasting, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration.

The position offers onsite work with potential for hybrid scheduling based on business needs. This role emphasizes developing financial models, preparing reports for investors, and supporting budgeting, acquisitions, and strategic portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in real estate asset management or investment analysis.
• Multifamily real estate experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, AI tools, financial modeling, and real estate software such as Yardi or MRI.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate financial performance of multifamily assets: occupancy, rental income, operating expenses, and capex.
• Develop, update, and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal stakeholders and investors.
• Support the budgeting process: review/update budgets, prepare property and corporate budgets, review submitted budgets, and develop summaries.
• Assist with business plans, due diligence, financial analysis, stabilization budgets, and cash flow forecasts for assets and acquisitions.
• Lead Asset Management department’s use of AI to improve processes.
• Participate in strategy discussions on leasing, renovations, refinancing, and dispositions.
• Support senior leadership with portfolio strategy, valuations, and investor presentations.
