Job summary

Sixth Street is looking for an associate to join the U.S. Real Estate Asset Management team. This full-time role will focus on asset management of the U.S. Real Estate portfolio and report to the Head of Asset Management, U.S. Real Estate.

The position supports ownership-based asset management, performance monitoring, and collaboration with operating partners. Based in Dallas, San Francisco or New York City, with base salary between $120,000 and $150,000, plus annual bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven experience originating/investing in and/or asset managing commercial real estate equity and/or credit across asset classes.
• Experience across geographies and capital stacks is a plus; equity experience is most critical.
• Ability to perform analysis, frame complex scenarios and provide clear recommendations.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Argus.
• Self-starter with initiative; able to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Structured problem solver who synthesizes information into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Understand and take an ownership view of assets/positions, markets and business plans for each investment.
• Carefully monitor positions, reviewing borrower/partner reporting and flag key issues.
• Key point of contact for operating partners/borrowers/service providers for day-to-day asset management.
• Actively participate in standing calls with partners/borrowers for each investment/position.
• Perform ad hoc analysis for asset management decisions (approvals, leasing, capex, modifications).
• Drive and coordinate internal operations processes (cash management, distributions, contributions, draw review, document review/negotiation/execution).
• Drive quarterly firmwide processes – Valuation Committee, Portfolio Review, etc.
• Assist with setting up key asset management processes on the front end of new investments/originations.
