Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Two to four years of relevant experience in real estate accounting, asset management, or financial analysis.
• Experience working with third-party property managers strongly preferred.
• Exposure to multifamily and commercial real estate, including retail, office, or industrial, strongly preferred.
• No certifications or licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate existing assets.
• Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for commercial assets.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets and prior periods; investigate and explain discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal accounting teams to support timely month-end close and reconciliations.
• Assist with annual property budgets and periodic reforecasts.
• Track and report capital expenditures and alignment with capital plans.
• Monitor property performance metrics, including NOI, occupancy, leasing activity, and capital improvements.
• Monitor performance against budgets and lender requirements, including covenants, DSCR, and LTV.
• Support hold/sell analyses, valuations, and strategic recommendations.
• Participate in periodic asset reviews and recommend operational or financial improvements.
• Serve as a liaison between ownership and third-party property management firms.
• Review property-level financial packages submitted by property managers and provide feedback.
• Monitor adherence to lease terms, budgets, and operational best practices.
• Assist in evaluating vendor contracts and scopes of work for operating and capital expenses.
• Maintain accurate, current asset files, including leases, contracts, and performance reports.
• Prepare internal reports for executive leadership summarizing property-level updates and trends.
• Assist with investor reporting and information requests.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting and asset management workflows.
• Support internal audits, property inspections, and compliance initiatives as needed.
• Stay current on commercial real estate trends, accounting standards, and market conditions.
• Support special projects, dispositions, acquisitions, and refinancing efforts as needed.
• Perform related projects and duties as assigned.
