Job description

ABOUT US

Itzhaki Acquisitions is a full-service real estate investment and development firm founded in 2006. We buy, reposition, and develop residential, mixed-use, and development properties, primarily in New York City, with a growing footprint in self-storage and select markets, including Florida. Since inception we have acquired more than $500 million in real estate, and we handle every stage of the investment cycle in-house: sourcing, underwriting, construction, and asset management. Most of what we have bought was never publicly for sale.

THE ROLE

This is a full-time, on-site position in our New York City office. The job of the Acquisitions Associate is to source investments: calling property owners to introduce the firm, generating leads, building relationships, identifying opportunities, and negotiating contracts. The calls are made daily and in volume; nearly every deal in the firm’s history began as one of them. The associate who opens a deal stays with it, through underwriting, contract, and closing, and learns the business from people who have practiced it for a long time. For someone serious about a career in real estate investment, it is a strong place to start.

WHY JOIN US
  • More than $500 million in real estate acquired since 2006, across several asset classes and markets
  • Direct access to the firm’s principals and involvement in decisions on live deals
  • The full cycle under one roof: sourcing, underwriting, construction, and asset management
  • Hands‑on training from a team that has been doing this for a long time
  • Room to grow as the firm grows
  • A team that values people who execute, and who think creatively when a deal gets complicated
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Call property owners every day to source off‑market opportunities; the phone is the main tool of this job
  • Build relationships with owners, brokers, and intermediaries to find deals before they reach themarket
  • Manage leads from first call to signed terms and keep the pipeline organized and moving
  • Support underwriting with property research, comparable sales, and return modeling
  • Review ownership, zoning, and title, and flag assemblage and repositioning angles in target corridors
  • Help carry deals through diligence and closing: site visits, follow‑ups, and coordination with attorneys, consultants, and contractors
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Comfortable and confident on the phone with owners and brokers
  • Organized, with the discipline to follow up week after week
  • Writes and speaks well
  • Serious about building a long-term career in real estate investment
