Job summary

HRM Concrete is seeking a dependable General Laborer to support ready mix operations in Shreveport, LA. You will assist equipment operators, maintain the plant and yard, perform general cleanup, and help ensure materials and equipment are ready for production.

The role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work safely in a fast-paced outdoor environment, and willingness to perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous construction, manufacturing, or concrete plant experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Ready Mix Loader Operator and other plant personnel with daily operations.
• Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning the plant, yard, equipment, and work areas.
• Shovel, sweep, and remove spilled aggregate, concrete, and debris to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist with unloading and organizing materials and supplies.
• Support routine maintenance activities by gathering tools, parts, and equipment as directed.
• Inspect work areas for safety hazards and report concerns to supervisors.
• Help direct truck traffic and maintain safe loading and unloading areas when needed.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
• Perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Complete other duties as assigned to support plant operations.
