Job summary

West Hawaii Concrete is seeking a professional driver at the Waimea location to operate ready-mix trucks in a safe, efficient manner. You will deliver concrete to industrial and residential sites, and follow dispatch directions while maintaining daily schedules.

You will work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed, perform basic truck maintenance, and collaborate with supervisors, fellow drivers, and customers to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Follow safety procedures while operating ready-mix trucks.
• Assist in maintaining clean and safe batch plant areas as directed.
• Deliver ready-mix concrete to industrial and residential sites.
• Follow dispatch directions and shift schedules, verbally and in writing.
• Work independently and complete daily activities on schedule.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and condition; refer major repairs to supervisor.
• Work well with supervisors, employees and the public.
• Maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Duties

• Properly follow company safety procedures in the efficient operation of ready-mix trucks and miscellaneous duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment in and around the batch plant as per the supervisor's instructions.
• Deliver ready mix concrete to both industrial and residential areas.
• Understand and follow delivery and shift schedules directed and scheduled by the dispatchers both verbally and in writing.
• Work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Maintain assigned truck by keeping efficient working condition and cleanliness of equipment.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major repair problems to the supervisor.
• Work effectively with others such as supervisors, employees, and the public.
• Maintain a positive attitude.

Skills

• Have previous truck driving experience, preferably ready mix.
• Experience with 8-10 speed transmissions.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. occasionally during the day.
• Good reading and writing skills.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Manage an irregular work schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Licensing & Certification

• Current CDL class B, class A preferred.
• Current medical examiner's certificate.
• Good driving record.
