Job summary

Kienstra Co in St. Louis is seeking a ready-mix concrete truck driver to operate and maintain a truck safely while delivering materials to customers. You will provide exceptional service at the point of contact and follow FMCSA and OSHA guidelines.

The role requires a class B CDL with air brake, 18+, prior heavy-truck driving experience, and ability to pass DOT pre-employment screening. Daily inspections and accurate delivery paperwork are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Minimum Class B CDL with air brake qualification.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Prior heavy truck driving experience mandatory, with 24 months minimum preferred.
• Ready-mix truck driving or related construction experience preferred.
• Driving record must meet company vehicle policy requirements.
• Ability to pass basic safety, quality, and maintenance training.
• Must be reliable.
• Must have a telephone or other contact method.
• Ability to pass negative DOT pre-employment drug screen.
• Some mechanical ability for inspections and minor deficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles and maintains personal safety per Company, FMCSA, and OSHA guidelines.
• Stay informed of applicable DOT rules and regulations.
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and related equipment.
• Keeps truck in premium operating condition and clean inside and outside.
• Uses sound judgment when setting up equipment on potentially dangerous job sites.
• Reads and understands delivery tickets and material quantities.
• Reports back to dispatch on status of job and scheduling.
• Reports mechanical problems with equipment to the proper personnel.
• Performs other duties assigned by the plant operator and grounds team.
• Operates other vehicles/equipment as needed to standards.
• Performs duties efficiently and ensures customer satisfaction.

The purpose of this position is to drive, operate and maintain a ready-mix concrete truck in a safe and professional manner. The position must give special attention to customer service, as this is the point of most frequent contact with our customers. Individuals in this position should be willing and able to provide our customers with quality service, doing all they can to make our customer service the best in the industry.

• Reports back to dispatch using proper communication procedure, on status of job and for other scheduling purposes.
• Reports all mechanical problems with equipment to the proper individual(s).
• Performs a variety of other duties assigned by the plant operator relative to the plant and grounds.
• Performs other assigned duties, and operates other vehicles and/or equipment, with regard to the above standards.
• Performs duties in an efficient manner and assures customer satisfaction.
