Job summary

Knife River is seeking a Ready Mix Driver to safely deliver concrete to commercial, construction, and residential projects. Drivers are home every night and receive a full benefits package.

Perform pre/post trip inspections, document deliveries, and maintain equipment cleanliness while following safety standards. A valid CDL and English proficiency are required to comply with FMCSA regulations and complete records.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and maintain clean DOT/CDL records.
• Ability to read/write/speak English sufficiently to comply with FMCSA regulations and related communications.
• Must pass pre-employment background check, physical/functional exam, and drug screen.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, nights and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and deliver ready-mix concrete to commercial, construction and residential projects.
• Complete pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and maintain vehicle readiness.
• Document each delivery and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Develop product knowledge and ensure quality and service throughout deliveries.
• Wash residual concrete from the truck and maintain a clean appearance per policies.
• Adhere to safety policies to prevent unsafe actions or conditions.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely drive and deliver ready mix concrete to commercial, construction and residential projects.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections on truck equipment.
• Document each delivery and complete all paperwork that may be necessary.
• Develop product knowledge and understand the importance of quality & service.
• Wash residual concrete from the truck and maintain a clean appearance by complying with Knife River’s operational policies, procedures and standards.
• Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
• Timely and regular attendance is essential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. a number of times a day.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, nights and overtime.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Previous truck driving experience (concrete experience preferred but not required).
• Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license, clean MVR record and DOT/CDL records.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to comply with FMCSA regulations, understand traffic signs, communicate with law enforcement, and complete required records.
