Job summary

Knife River in Texas is seeking a Ready Mix Driver to safely drive and deliver concrete to commercial, construction and residential projects. Our drivers are home every night, and we offer competitive wages with a full benefits package.

The role includes pre/post trip inspections, paperwork, product knowledge, and maintaining a clean truck while following safety policies. Flexibility for weekends and overtime is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid CDL, clean MVR, and DOT/CDL records.
• Able to read, write and speak English to comply with FMCSA regulations.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work flexible shifts including weekends/nights.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and deliver ready mix concrete to commercial, construction and residential projects.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections on truck equipment.
• Document each delivery and complete all required paperwork.
• Develop product knowledge and understand quality and service.
• Wash residual concrete from the truck and keep the vehicle clean.
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Other duties as assigned and maintain timely attendance.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely drive and deliver ready mix concrete to commercial, construction and residential projects.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections on truck equipment.
• Document each delivery and complete all paperwork that may be necessary.
• Develop product knowledge and understand the importance of quality & service.
• Wash residual concrete from the truck and maintain a clean appearance by complying with Knife River’s operational policies, procedures and standards.
• Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
• Timely and regular attendance is essential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. a number of times a day.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, nights and overtime.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Previous truck driving experience (concrete experience preferred but not required).
• Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license, clean MVR record and DOT/CDL records.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to comply with FMCSA regulations, understand traffic signs, communicate with law enforcement, and complete required records.
