Job summary

Reading Corps, powered by Ampact, is hiring Reading Tutors to help students in local schools build reading skills. You will conduct short 20-minute tutoring sessions, follow a daily schedule, and track progress with on-site coaches. Training and ongoing support are provided as you grow in the role.

Ideal candidates are dependable, English-fluent, at least 18 with a HS diploma, and able to pass a background check. This is a part-time/seasonal program through AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Basic computer skills including email and online navigation.
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with HS diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident; able to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
