Job Title: Reading Teacher
Location: Canton, PA 17011
Employment Type: Part-Time (29 hours/week)

Your Role as a Reading Teacher

Student Support: Provide reading instruction to elementary and secondary students, including both special and general education populations identified as struggling readers.

Special Education Services: Deliver required reading support aligned with IEP goals and maintain compliance with all special education requirements.

Targeted Interventions: Implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading interventions for students with significant reading deficits.

Skill Development: Work to increase reading proficiency through focused instruction tailored to individual student needs.

Confidentiality Compliance: Uphold all confidentiality standards in accordance with agency policies, FERPA, HIPAA, and counselor-student privacy regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold an active PA teaching certification, such as a Private Academic Certificate, Level I or II Pennsylvania Instructional Special Education Certification K-12.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor’s degree and at least six credit hours in special education may qualify for a Temporary Private Academic Certificate.
  • All New Story School/River Rock Academy teachers must have their PA license in place by August 1, 2025.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
