Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking a Reading Specialist to develop and deliver targeted literacy instruction based on data from evaluations and teacher input. You will monitor student progress and communicate results to teachers, IEP/504 teams, and families as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in education, PA Reading Specialist certification, and 3 years of teaching experience; Wilson training or certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education is required.
• PA Reading Specialist certification is required.
• Experience teaching reading and literacy development is preferred.
• Master's degree in reading is preferred.
• Fingerprint clearances completed within the last year are required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement literacy instruction rooted in best practices.
• Provide direct reading and writing instruction for individuals or small groups.
• Support students with disabilities per IEP and 504 plans.
• Deliver evidence-based programs with fidelity and monitor progress.
• Develop lesson plans and manage instructional materials for literacy.
• Lead professional development on literacy methods for staff.
