The Literacy Coach will lead staff development, analyze data with teachers and administrators, and coordinate resources to improve literacy across all grade levels while engaging families and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Certification in Elementary, Middle School, Literacy Coach, Literacy Specialist, and/or Literacy Teacher.
• 3 years teaching experience with proven success in student reading achievement.
• Knowledge of best practices in reading/language arts.
• Skill in analyzing teaching.
• Ability to be innovative and willing to promote new programs and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead teachers by planning, collaborating, organizing, mentoring and facilitating instructional change.
• Partner with classroom teachers to assess students, plan instruction and implement best practices.
• Analyze data with teachers and administrators to improve instruction for all students.
• Provide and gather resources to support instruction for all grade levels.
• Promote research-based teaching strategies to address school goals.
• Deliver staff development to implement the school’s improvement plan.
• Maintain effective communication with administrators, teachers, parents and stakeholders.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth with current research-based practices.
• Coordinate grade-level meetings and after-school staff development with principals.
• Collaborate with media specialists to promote informational literacy and staff development.
• Foster a trustful, collaborative environment to promote professional growth.
• Coordinate parent workshops to help parents support literacy at home.
