Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least two years of experience working with adolescents.
• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with middle and high school students.

• Ability to participate in training and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide literacy instruction to small groups of approximately three students.
• Support reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and other literacy skills.
• Provide targeted instruction based on identified strengths and needs.
• Work with students with significant gaps in literacy skills.
• Implement research-based literacy strategies from school training.
• Reinforce skills learned in English/ELA classes.
• Help students understand increasingly complex texts.
• Encourage confident, independent readers.
• Modify instruction based on progress and needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, intervention staff, and admins.
• Communicate progress with school staff.
• Maintain records of participation and progress.
• Use assessment information to guide instruction.
• Establish positive relationships with students.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
