Harmony School of Innovation-Odessa seeks an experienced educator to support ELAR/ESL learners in a K-2 setting. You will create small-group learning experiences, adapt instruction based on data, and communicate progress to families and campus leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum two years of experience supporting K-2 ELAR and/or ESL classrooms (preferred).
  • Texas Teacher certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (preferred).
  • ESL/Bilingual certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Understands and supports Harmony Public Schools' mission, vision and values.
  • Creates a small-group learning environment using research-based practices.
  • Plans small group lessons to meet individual student needs and abilities.
  • Provides second language acquisition instruction and progress reports to Emergent bilingual students.
  • Develops instructional scaffolds based on text complexity and formative assessment.
  • Analyzes assessment data to plan instruction for small groups.
  • Evaluates student work to identify trends and next steps.
  • Maintains records and communicates with parents and administration.
  • Supports student behavior and maintains a positive classroom environment.
  • Participates in staff development and meetings.
