Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking fun, dedicated teachers to inspire students with after-school tutoring in reading and writing. We work with elementary to high school students in small groups of up to three, using pre-planned lessons and flexible schedules.

This is a part-time, on-site role with no remote work and opportunities for growth. Ideal candidates have a four-year degree (or equivalent), state teaching credentials preferred, and prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Four year degree preferred or equivalent.
• Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension helpful for reading teachers.
• Ability to multi-task in a classroom setting.
• Experience with tablets or educational tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction in reading and writing to groups of up to 3 students.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons with ease and engagement.
• Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment for learners.
• Adapt instruction to meet varied grade levels and abilities.
