STARTING SALARY: $52,918 + (based on experience)
Summary
This position will provide extended, intensive and consistent reading and/or math instruction for identified Tier II & III students who need additional assistance to achieve state and district benchmarks. Services are provided individually or in small groups based on building and student needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans Tier II & III services based on student academic performance
- Provides delivery of instruction consistent with prescribed intervention
- Instructs individual students and small groups
- Monitors/reports student progress to school staff
- Consults with classroom teacher to provide qualitative and quantitative feedback
- Evaluates student progress toward state and district benchmarks
- Consults with classroom teacher to identify pupil needs
- Compiles and maintains educational records
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective and safe learning environment
- Continues professional growth in literacy, math and instructional pedagogy
Qualification Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Bilingual in Spanish (preferred). Reading Specialist or Reading Teacher licenses preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license at the teaching grade/age level they are teaching.
- Valid Driver’s License.
COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, peers, administrators, parents, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Analytical And Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills And Abilities
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on building and district goals and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, administrators, and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to use technology to accomplish job responsibilities that may include basic knowledge of e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.

Certificates, Licenses
Must possess and maintain or be eligible to hold a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license at the teaching grade/age level they are teaching. Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
Shall complete a physical examination as required by Wisconsin Statute 118.25.
