This is a remote contract role for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Reading Ready DMV. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Reading Ready DMV. As an SLP, you will play a crucial role in our mission to empower children to become confident and capable readers. In this role, you will work closely with students who struggle with language, articulation, and communication difficulties, using specialized techniques and interventions to help them build the necessary skills for reading success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments using industry standard tests and observation techniques
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for students based on assessment results and ongoing progress monitoring
  3. Provide direct therapy services to children, addressing speech and language delays and disorders related to reading
  4. Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on progress and strategies for supporting their child's communication and language development at home
  5. Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate in team meetings and conferences as necessary
  6. Stay current on best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology, incorporating new techniques and strategies into therapy sessions as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a school or clinical setting, preferably with a focus on reading intervention
  • Experience gathering and analyzing diagnostic assessment data
  • Track record of success through quantitative measures of student achievement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and lead with student assets in a culturally responsive manner
  • Patience, compassion, and dedication to student empowerment
  • Experience presenting online and facilitating virtual meetings
  • Availability to work consistent hours week to week, including evenings
