Job summary

Orchard Farm School District is seeking a dedicated Reading Interventionist Paraprofessional to provide targeted instruction and nurture a learning environment that helps students reach their potential. The role collaborates with the reading department to plan and assess progress.

The position is for the 9-month school year with starting rates of $25.00–$28.14 per hour, depending on experience. Work week is Monday through Friday, with a focus on supporting diverse learners.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist students according to individualized needs in a small group setting.
  • Assist student supervision across all settings.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to plan for and monitor instruction.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information per policy and law.
  • Support students with IEPs under teacher guidance.
  • Participate in staff development and meetings as requested.
  • Follow instructions from teachers and administrators.

Job description

Orchard Farm School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our educational team as a Reading Interventionist Paraprofessional. OurReading Interventionist Paraprofessionalsare responsible for providing outstanding instruction and nurturing an environment conducive to learning for the students they serve so each student can reach their full potential as leaders and learners. They will work collaboratively with other members of the reading department to plan instruction, assess student progress, promote reading, etc.

Position Term:

School Year (9 month)

Starting Rates:

$25.00 - $28.14, depending on experience

Work Week:

Monday - Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree or higher, required
  • Must hold a teaching certificate whether active or expired, able to have an active substittute certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Background check clearance as required by state regulations

Information regarding how Missouri Teacher Certification or Substitute Certification may be obtained at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website: www.dese.mo.gov *Applicants with expired Teaching Certification could reactive or obtain an active substitute certificaiton. Active teaching certificaiton, nothing additional.

An individual who holds this position is required to:
  • Assist students according to their individualized needs in a small group setting.
  • Assist student supervision across all settings
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members to plan for an monitor instruction
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordance with Board policy and law
  • Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the teacher
  • Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events when requested by administration
  • Follow instructions from teachers and administrators
