Job summary

Orchard Farm School District in Missouri is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Special Education team as a Full Time District Substitute Teacher. This position ensures students receive quality instruction during teacher/paraprofessional absences and is supervised by the Director of Special Education.

Qualifications

• Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate is required.
• Missouri Teacher Certification (preferred).
• Missouri Special Education Teacher Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver group and/or individual instruction within established curriculum guidelines as assigned by classroom teacher or building administrator.
• Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Model conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, etc., to demonstrate appropriate social behavior.
• Monitor students in various educational environments to maintain safety and positive learning.
• Report incidents (e.g., fights, suspected abuse) to maintain student safety and adhere to policy.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Work under limited supervision using standardized practices/methods.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.

Orchard Farm School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Special Education team as a Full Time District Substitute Teacher. This full-time position ensures students receive quality instruction to acheive the learning objective during a teacher/paraprofessional absences.

Minimum Requirements

• Missouri Substitute Teacher Certificate required
• Missouri Teacher Certification (preferred)
• Missouri Special Education Teacher Certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations and law
• Knowledge of subject matter content and assessment strategies
• Knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction
• Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
• Ability to follow written and oral communication
• Ability to problem solve

An individual who holds this position is required to:

• Delivering group and/or individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines as assigned by classroom teacher or building administrator.
• Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Models conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
• Monitors students in a variety of educational environments for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining the personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code and school policies.
• Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Special Education District Substitute must be available to teach at all locations. This position will be supervised by the Director of Special Education and placed in specific roles as needed throughout the district on a daily basis. The Special Education District Substitute will be fulltime with full district benefits and paid time off according to district policy.
