Job summary

Lufkin, Inc. is seeking a Literacy Interventionist to deliver Reading Language Arts instruction and train teachers in best practices to raise literacy achievement.

The role reports to the Principal and focuses on district-aligned reading interventions and assessment-driven instruction. The candidate should possess a Texas teaching certificate and a bachelor’s degree with preferred mastery in reading or ESL endorsement, plus multiple years of classroom intervention experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate.
• Master’s degree or additional certifications preferred.
• Neuhaus training preferred.
• CALT Certification preferred.
• Coursework in Reading; endorsement in Reading preferred; ESL endorsement preferred.
• Four years of related experience; classroom teaching; reading/writing intervention.
• Experience creating formative assessments to address literacy areas.
• Ability to analyze evaluation data for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide intervention services to students in English Language Arts.
• Develop TEKS-aligned reading and writing curricular resources.
• Create guidance for teachers to address weaknesses in reading/writing.
• Keep abreast of research and trends in reading/writing.
• Plan lessons reflecting accommodations for individual differences.
• Use assessments to plan instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula.
• Determine instructional goals with staff and district requirements.
• Assess student growth and maintain records as required.
