Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a HQ Paraprofessional to assist with student supervision and classroom support in a 15–18.75 hour per week role. The position requires an Associate's degree or passing the ParaPro Exam, ability to follow procedures and maintain confidentiality, and preference for First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must be HQ Paraprofessional with Associate's degree of 60 college credit hours or pass ParaPro Exam.
• Ability to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner.
• Ability to follow directions and school procedures from the Principal and designated staff.
• Ability to operate general office machines.
• Ability to organize and to prioritize.
• Effective communicator and work cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Prefer First Aid and/or CPR certification.
• Prefer experience working with elementary level students.
• Must pass a background clearance
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the reading or math interventionist.
• Assists independent study, enrichment work and remedial work for the classroom.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of teachers.
• Participates in in-service training programs as required.
• Exercises positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills.
• Adheres to the dress code appropriate for the site and job.
• Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, and assemblies.
• Maintains the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer being employed.
• Be flexible
• Assists the teacher with evaluation of student progress in relations to established educational objectives.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
