Job summary

You’ll teach and guide students using approved curricula, with emphasis on aligning academic skills to career training and workplace expectations. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching certificate, plus experience with youth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or higher.
• Valid teaching certificate required; experience with youth preferred.
• One year instructional experience preferred; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students per approved curricula.
• Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.
• Motivate and counsel students in behavior, training, and study habits; coordinate with staff to resolve training issues.
• Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Utilize classroom expectations and relate academic skills to career training; assist individual students as needed.
• Review and audit areas for contractual compliance and delivery effectiveness; prepare related reports.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area and ensure high work standards.
• Administer and correct tests; maintain progress and attendance reports.
• Maintain great communication and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Implement classroom accommodations year-round for diverse student needs.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible providing academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
• Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Utilize workplace language and behavior expectations in the classroom; on a routine basis, relate academic skills to career technical training and workplace requirements; inquire if individual students need assistance.
• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
• Administer and correct tests; maintain progress and attendance reports.
• Great communication skills and able to multi-task.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with students on different levels and different needs.
• Able to implement classroom accommodations for those who need. Year-round program.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid teaching certificate, experience with youth, and communication, including computer-based platforms such as Black Board.
• One (1) year instructional experience preferred.
• A Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
