Job summary

CSU Stanislaus is seeking a temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant in the Mathematics department to assist with grading and record-keeping for lower division math courses. The position starts on or after August 31, 2026 and ends by May 21, 2027, with potential reappointment depending on budget and performance.

Duties include grading homework with provided solutions, recording scores, and supporting the instructor as needed.

Qualifications

• Undergrad must be enrolled in at least six Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be enrolled in at least four Fall/Spring units.
• Demonstrates dependability and ability to complete duties timely.
• Demonstrates math competency above the level of the course to be graded.

Job Description/Duties

Homework grader for lower division math courses.

• Assist instructor with grading homework assignments (with provided solutions).
• Record student scores. Perform all other duties or projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrates to be dependable, responsible, neat and able to perform duties in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates grade of “B” or better in the lower division course to be graded or in comparable mathematics courses.
• Demonstrates competency in Mathematics above the level of the course to be graded.

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.

Salary Range

$16.90per hour.
