Additional Resources Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician / HGV Fitter to join a road repair and green technology company specialising in sustainable asphalt and pothole repair solutions. You will diagnose faults, carry out hands-on repairs, and take ownership of vehicle maintenance and safety.

The role offers a salary up to £43,000 (negotiable) with pension, free parking, and overtime prospects, and requires strong mechanical skills and experience with diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• HGV maintenance and repair experience.
• Strong mechanical background with workshop experience.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Confidence using modern diagnostic equipment incl. laptop diagnostics.
• Experience with vehicle electrical systems, wiring and electronics.
• Fabrication, welding and soldering skills.
• Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Ability to carry out heavy lifting safely.

Responsabilités

• Carrying out servicing, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on HGVs and associated vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using technical information, schematics and modern diagnostic equipment, including laptop-based systems.
• Identifying faults and completing repairs to brakes, engines, transmissions, electrical systems and other vehicle components.
• Undertaking fabrication, welding, soldering and component assembly as part of repair and modification work.
• Working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and other workshop machinery.
• Inspecting and maintaining associated equipment, including trailers, excavators and forklifts.
• Preparing vehicles for MOTs and carrying out any necessary work to ensure they are safe and ready to return to service.
• Keeping clear and accurate records of servicing, repairs and inspections.

As an

HGV Technician / HGV Fitter, you will be diagnosing faults, carrying out hands‑on repairs and maintenance, and taking ownership of vehicle availability and safety.

This role offers benefits and a salary of up to £43,000 which is negotiable for right candidate.

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on HGVs and associated vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using technical information, schematics and modern diagnostic equipment, including laptop-based systems.
• Identifying faults and completing repairs to brakes, engines, transmissions, electrical systems and other vehicle components.
• Undertaking fabrication, welding, soldering and component assembly as part of repair and modification work.
• Working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and other workshop machinery.

What we are looking for:

• Hands‑on experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
• A strong mechanical background with substantial practical experience working on vehicles and using workshop tools.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Confidence using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment, including laptop-based diagnostics.
• Experience with vehicle electrical systems, wiring and electronic components.
• Practical fabrication, welding and soldering skills.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Carry out heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely.
