Job summary

Ringway Worcester is seeking a Workshop Foreman to manage day-to-day workshop operations, supervise staff, allocate workloads and ensure DVSA-compliant, roadworthy vehicle maintenance. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail and effective stock management.

You will lead technical teams, ensure quality control, and act as the key liaison between the workshop and management to meet targets and customer expectations. Prior HGV/foreman experience preferred.

Qualifications

• IRTEC HGV accreditation and DVSA MOT tester qualifications are highly desirable.
• Supervisory or management training is preferred.
• First Aid, IOSH or NEBOSH certification is advantageous.
• Strong workload planning and allocation skills are required.
• Proven ability to manage workshop productivity and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
• Efficient stock and parts management to support maintenance work.

Summary

The Workshop Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the workshop, ensuring that vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, and servicing are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The role involves supervising workshop staff, allocating workloads, monitoring productivity, maintaining compliance with health and safety and DVSA regulations, and ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained in a roadworthy condition. The Workshop Foreman provides technical support to technicians, oversees quality control, and acts as the key link between the workshop team and management to ensure operational targets and customer expectations are met.

• Full HGV license and MOT Tester qualification desirable.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive continuous improvement within a busy workshop environment.
