Job summary

HTG-UK is hiring Ambulance Care Assistants to join our Discharge Rota in Norwich. You will provide safe, compassionate transport to patients, supporting them on their journeys to appointments and home, with a focus on dignity and care.

As part of a nationwide NHS-focused service, you’ll undergo two weeks of training, receive a full uniform, and enjoy benefits including market-leading pay, contractual sick pay after 12 months, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support and compassionate care throughout their journey.
  • Assist with mobility needs, safe lifting, use of equipment and transferring patients to/from vehicles or homes.
  • Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, keep equipment clean, and record journey details and incidents as required.
  • Uphold safety policies and contribute to a safe patient transport service.

Summary Of Main Duties Include:

Patient Transport & Care - Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support, and compassionate care throughout their journey.

Assisting with Mobility - Helping patients with mobility needs, including safe lifting, use of specialist equipment, and transferring patients to and from vehicles or their homes.

Communication & Compassion - Communicating clearly and kindly with patients, families, and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity, respect, and patient confidentiality at all times.

Vehicle Checks & Basic Administration- Carrying out daily vehicle checks, keeping all equipment clean and ready in line with Infection Prevention and Control procedures, and ensuring that any incidents and/or journey details are accurately recorded as required.
