Job summary

Bristol Ambulance, part of EMED Group, has an exciting opportunity for Ambulance Care Assistants to join our Bristol team. We seek compassionate individuals to provide essential support to patients during their medical journeys.

An ACA role is highly rewarding. This position offers 36 hours per week over 12-hour shifts (start times between 06:00 and 19:00) with full uniform, training, generous annual leave, progression opportunities, and access to our Pre-Hospital Care Academy.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence (held for minimum 12 months if over 21, or 24 months if under 21)
• Experience in Care (HCA, Support worker, etc) - advantageous
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and independently
• Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the transportation of end-of-life patients with empathy at all times
• Building rapport by effectively communicating with patients and relatives/friends
• Responsible for lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the Ambulance
• Assist with handing over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes
• Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospital and medical settings
• Ensuring that the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy

Other Duties Include
