Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a friendly receptionist for Bramwell House, a Lifehouse facility housing adults 18+ experiencing homelessness. You will be the first point of contact, signing in visitors, handling queries, and ensuring a welcoming, professional environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work as part of a team, and experience working with vulnerable clients. A DBS check, right-to-work verification, and references are required; the position is fixed-term

Responsibilities

• Provide front-of-house service to clients/visitors and manage sign-in/out.

• Operate CCTV system after training in line with policy.
• Support team to ensure a positive experience at Bramwell House.

Please note this is a fixed term position until 31st March 2028. Working hours: 40 hours per week ((on a 8.30pm - 8am off, four on four rota basis including weekends & bank holidays) ). Additional salary information: 10% night works allowance. Interview Date: To be confirmed.

One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army, is looking to recruit a Receptionist (internally known within as a Concierge) to be our first point of contact for everyone accessing our Lifehouse, Bramwell House. Bramwell House is a residential centre accommodating 51 adults 18years+ who are experiencing homelessness. This role requires a friendly, approachable person who will be pivotal in ensuring our vision for high-quality person-centred support is delivered.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and work within the Mission and Values of The Salvation Army acting in a professional and ethical way at all times when representing the organisation.
• Offer front of house service to clients/visitors ensuring they are signed in or out where required and their queries are handled in a professional friendly manner, referring them to the relevant person where required.
• Complete Health and safety checks.
• Handling of cash ensuring all accounting records are properly maintained.
• Handle all incoming telephone calls appropriately.
• To use a CCTV system (after training) in line with policy.
• Experience of working with vulnerable clients in a supportive setting
• Work as part of overall team to ensure the most positive experience in Bramwell House.

The successful candidate will be

A friendly approachable person who is a good communicator, with a sound knowledge of managing a busy welcoming reception area. Also to have some knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, a criminal record check (Enhanced DBS Disclosure check for the adult workforce), Health Assessment and evidence of your Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.
