Job summary

Arvato Bertelsmann is seeking a Material Handler II at our Shepherdsville, KY facility to operate reach trucks and manage inventory in a fast-paced, team-oriented warehouse environment. The role supports production flow and requires experience with SAP/WMS and accurate data entry.

The position is flexible part-time with shifts in a 12-hour framework and 4-hour increments, designed to balance work and life while contributing to efficient logistics operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience operating a reach truck or similar equipment.
• 1+ years of warehouse or logistics experience.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for warehouse activities.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial equipment, primarily a reach truck, to move materials between production, storage, and shipping areas.
• Organize and maintain inventory; track materials as they are received, moved, and shipped.
• Perform cycle counts and data entry of count results in the system.
• Inspect inventory for defects and document discrepancies in the system.
• Fill, stage, package, and ship orders; hand off processed packages to carriers.
• Enter data in SAP/WMS and support cross-departmental objectives.

Job Description

As a Material Handler II at Arvato, you will be responsible for operating various powered industrial equipment, primarily a reach truck, to accurately transport component materials between the production departments and stage/storage locations. You will also use SAP/ERP for inputs and outputs as well as transport finished and semi-finished goods from production departments to shipping or other appropriate locations.

This is a flexible part-time position with no minimum weekly hour requirement. Employees can work up to 24 hours per week.

Standard Part-Time 12 hour shifts:

• Saturday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Sunday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Monday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Flexible Part-Time 4 hour shifts: Part-time employees may also work in 4-hour increments, with a minimum shift length of 4 hours.

• Saturday, Sunday & Monday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Saturday, Sunday & Monday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• Saturday, Sunday & Monday: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

YOUR TASKS

• 1 year of experience operating forklifts, including dock stockers and reach trucks.
• Inventory organization and maintenance
• Inventory tracking as products are received into, moved through, and shipped from the warehouse
• Perform cycle counting of inventoried materials that can include counting, recording, re-counting, and data entry of count results
• Inspect inventory for defects or damages, including documentation of such into warehouse & inventory management systems
• Fill and check customer orders, including handing off processed packages to carriers
• Stage, process, package, and ship material & orders accurately, including receipt and delivery to internal clients
• Enter data in warehouse management (SAP) programs
• Interface with and assist management, including across departments, to ensure key objectives are realized
• Unload incoming material from truck shipments and assist delivery carriers with the unloading of parcels
• Inspect, review, verify, and record inbound material against delivery paperwork and document any discrepancies through appropriate channels
• Continuous involvement and support with departmental process improvements
• Unassisted lifting up to 50lbs
• Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
• Follow and maintain 7s Program and guidelines
• Any additional tasks that may be assigned to ensure an efficient, safe, clean, and goal oriented work environment

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience operating a reach truck
• 1+ years of relevant work experience in warehouse or logistics
• Knowledge of WMS (warehouse management system) pertaining to warehouse activities required
• High school diploma or equivalent education required
