Job summary

Kuna Foodservice in Dupo, IL is seeking a Reach Truck Operator to efficiently move and stage inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will operate forklifts, verify counts, inspect pallets, and follow safety policies. Must be 18+, read/write English, and be able to work overtime in cold or warm environments; forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to be certified on all equipment used on shift by Kuna Foodservice.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must have basic math skills.

• Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures (-10 to 55+ degrees).
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• One year warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Locate slots, set pallets with forklift or hand stack items and record data.
• Count incoming freight in staging area and move to freezer with forklift/pallet jack.
• Replenish pick slots according to next day’s work orders.
• Rotate stock to front and remove outdated inventory.
• Disperse over-stocked items to temporary storage.
• Remove empty pallets and dispose of packing materials per guidelines.
• Inspect pallets and move them with pallet jack or forklift.
• Follow safety policies and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Complete end-of-shift paperwork and secure equipment.

Pay Range: $19.00 - $22.00 Hourly

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Essential Functions

• Locates proper slot on storage racks, sets pallets in place with forklift or hand stack items, enters product data and location into appropriate unit.
• Locates and performs count check of incoming freight in the staging area and transports to freezer with forklift/pallet jack.
• Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock items according to next day’s work orders.
• Rotates date-sensitive stock to the front of the rack and/or removes outdated out-of-date inventory according to company policy.
• Disperses over-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage.
• Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles.
• Inspects empty pallets for damage, stacks and moves pallets with pallet jack or forklift to the proper storage area.
• Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Ensures the work area is safe and reports any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Obtains supplies required to perform the work and prepares for operations.
• Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Meets required productivity and accuracy standards.
• Works from receiving sheets, computer print-out, established procedures and practices, written and/or verbal instructions. Inspects items for damage, performs temperature and quality checks and takes appropriate action as needed.
• Performs general housekeeping duties in work area as needed.
• Completes vehicle inspection checklist.
• Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work overtime, as required.

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse setting, with routine exposure to extreme temperatures (to -10 degrees) during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as riding forklift, stand-up forklift, hand truck, pallet jacks, box cutters, and pick-to-voice equipment. It may also use standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

• Grasps and/or manipulates objects while quickly moving on hand, a hand and arm together or two hands.

Required Education and Experience
