Reach Stacker and Industrial Forklift Operator

Summary

The primary focus of this role is the safe and efficient handling of containers within a controlled environment. This position will require the operator to operate both a Reach Stacker and an Industrial Forklift.

Important Personal Skills

• Have at least 1-year experience in the safe operation of Reach Stacker and/or Industrial Forklift.
• A positive attitude and can work well under pressure.
• Previous reach stacker / container handler experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong sense of accountability.
• A strong team player with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• The want to learn all aspects of the business.

Job Tasks

• The operation of equipment in a manner that is both safe and avoids damage to containers and other equipment or product.
• The safe and effective stacking of sea containers up to 4 high.
• The safe loading and unloading of containers on chassis.
• Monitors gauges, inspects product, troubleshoots as needed, and handles routine maintenance.
• Demonstrating a high level of Safety and Process compliance.
• Attention to detail and maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of the full yard and the empty yard.
• The safe and effective stacking of sea containers up to 2 high.

Qualification and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a valid Driver License.
• Must be able to complete and pass drug test and background check.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
