Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in an educational setting or an interest in supporting learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support for IEP students by attending to program needs (reading, writing, math, social/behavior skills).
• Provide support and structure for students needing behavior and social skills support.
• Assist students in developing functional skills leading to independence.
• Implement and reinforce social skills training programs.
• Assist certificated staff with record-keeping, materials development and teaching aids preparation.
• Learn instructional techniques under supervision and carry out programs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers.
• Assist in assessing students.
• Monitor and assist student progress in the classroom and activities.
• Promote positive public relations when communicating with the public.
