Job summary

UNFI is seeking a forklift operator to move product in a California warehouse. The role involves daily shift assignments, vehicle inspections, and replenishing pick slots while ensuring accurate inventory counts.

You will follow safety guidelines and operate RF systems in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work across flexible full-time schedules and maintain orderly pallet staging.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklift operations (sit-down or stand-up) required.
• Understanding of safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/operations experience preferred but not required.
• Good judgment, able to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Report to the receiving office at the start of shift for daily assignments and discrepancies sheets.
• Inspect assigned lift and complete vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenish pick slots using view requests or manual replenish screens.
• Maintain correct counts and log inventory discrepancies.
• Remove shrink wrap from knockdowns and stage pallets neatly.
• Remove empty pallets from pick locations and keep aisles clear.
• Park and recharge the lift at shift end.

Job description

Job Overview: Responsible for moving product. A forklift operator at UNFI is required to have a strong understanding of their lift, the pallets associate is carrying, productivity measures and safety procedures.

Schedule

• We're fully operational Sunday-Saturday.
• Schedule depends on business needs.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Reports to the receiving office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
• Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
• Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
• Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles. Separates the good, bad, and blue pallets and neatly stages in pallet staging area.
• Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.

Job Requirements

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months experience on sit down or stand-up forklift.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
