Job summary

UNFI is seeking a Lift Operator in the Harrisburg area to join a team serving thousands of locations with a wide range of products. You will report at shift start, inspect the lift, replenish pick slots, maintain counts, and ensure safe lift operation throughout the shift.

Key qualifications include understanding warehouse procedures, basic math, and sound judgment with limited supervision. This is a full-time on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Understand procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a global view of processes.
  • Apply basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division involving money and units.
  • Good judgment with limited supervision and ability to handle ordinary, standard situations.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the shipping office at the start of shift for daily assignment and logs discrepancies.
  • Inspects lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
  • Replenishes pick slots via view request screen; uses manual replenish if needed.
  • Maintains correct counts and logs inventory discrepancies.
  • Verifies correct product in each pick location.
  • Removes empty pallets and sorts pallets for staging.
  • Operates the lift safely and parks it at shift end.

Job Responsibilities For Lift Operator
  • Reports to the shipping office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
  • Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
  • Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
  • Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Verifies that the correct product is being put in the appropriate pick location.
  • Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles. Separates the good, bad, and blue pallets and neatly stages in pallet staging area.
  • Operates the lift in a safe and efficient manner and parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.
Job Requirements For Lift Operator
  • Have an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with ordinary, standardized situations.
  • Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding; subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound.

Good Judgement is required as their are times when immediate supervision might not be available

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
