Job summary

UNFI is hiring a forklift operator in West Sacramento, CA. The role requires stand-up/reach truck experience, operation in freezing temperatures, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

You will handle daily shift assignments, inspect equipment, replenish slots, and maintain inventory accuracy within a cold-storage warehouse environment. Applicants should have at least 6 months of forklift experience, knowledge of RF systems, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
• At least 6 months experience on sit down or stand-up forklift.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the receiving office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen; uses the manual replenish screen if needed.
• Maintains correct counts and logs discrepancies in inventory.
• Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
• Removes empty pallets from pick locations and aisles; sorts pallets and stages in pallet area.
• Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at shift end.

Job description

Job Overview: Responsible for moving product. A forklift operator at UNFI is required to have a strong understanding of their lift, the pallets associate is carrying, productivity measures, and safety procedures.

Schedule

• Stand-up reach truck experience required. Will be trained to use a high-reach truck with a fork-mounted camera.
• Primarily works in temperatures below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Freezer operation
• Required to lift up to 100lbs.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Reports to the receiving office at the beginning of each shift for the daily assignment, vehicle inspection sheet and replenishment discrepancies sheet.
• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet.
• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots.
• Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory.
• Cuts and removes shrink wrap from all knockdowns.
• Removes all empty pallets from pick locations and aisles. Separates the good, bad, and blue pallets and neatly stages in pallet staging area.
• Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months experience on sit down or stand-up forklift.
