Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Houston, TX seeks a Registered Dental Assistant to support patient care across orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics and oral surgery. The role includes back office duties and welcoming the patient in our lobbies.

Flexible scheduling may include evenings and weekends to meet business needs. The ideal candidate holds an active RDA license with the Texas Board, CPR/AED certification, and knowledge of Open Dental or Dentrix is helpful.

Qualifications

• Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE).
• Active CPR and AED training is required.
• Nitrous Oxide monitoring certification is preferred.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training are required.
• Dental software experience (Open Dental/Dentrix) is helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• End of week inventory to be provided to Lead DA to replenish inventory.
• Focusing on patient safety and team safety as priority.
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control protocols and disposing of sharps and waste safely.
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts (health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, etc.).
• Educating patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitoring patient well-being during visits.
• Preparing tray setups per doctor preferences.
• Ensuring exam rooms are cleaned, disinfected, organized and stocked.
• Charting existing treatment and updating patient charts with fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing patient chart and health history before doctor arrival.
• Taking diagnostic X-Rays and attaching to patient chart.
• Helping Rodeo Team clean surfaces and common areas.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
