The RCM Billing Manager is a strategic revenue cycle leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and financial effectiveness of the Billing function. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely claim submission, analyzing billing performance, identifying barriers to collection, and developing strategies that improve cash flow, reduce accounts receivable, and maximize revenue.
Develops and executes billing strategies that support organizational cash, revenue, and accounts receivable goals.
Identifies trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact collections and proactively develops corrective strategies.
Establishes priorities based on financial impact, urgency, payer behavior, aging, and probability of collection.
Diagnoses and solves issues impacting departmental objectives. Works collaboratively with other internal Powerback departments, external agencies, and payers to achieve desired results.
Evaluates current workflows and recommends process improvements, automation, technology enhancements, and staffing changes.
Ensures all Powerback policies and quality standards are enforced for all assigned functions in RCM; ensures strict adherence to all external regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Analyzes private-pay collection trends and identifies opportunities to increase cash collections.
Analyzes the financial impact of aged accounts and prioritizes resources toward the highest-value opportunities.
Leads team members and performs 1-1 meetings along with performance reviews in a timely and professional manner.
Supports management by responding to and resolving issues relating to direct bill sites of service.
Maintains and develops processes to quickly identify potential revenue cycle issues.
Proactively leverages available technology, including current Google Workspace tools and emerging solutions, to streamline processes, improve productivity, efficiency, organization, and results, while reducing or avoiding unnecessary expense.
Completes weekly and monthly reports for management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience related to billing in a Medicare, Private Pay, and Commercial environment required.
Previous management experience in a high volume healthcare Business environment preferred.
Knowledge of practice management and EMR systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google software.
