Job summary

Assurance Care & Support Services Inc in New Jersey seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support per each person’s service plan, assisting with daily living, communication, and social goals.

You will work in individuals' homes and community settings across NJ, under supervision, following plans and DDD procedures, documenting progress and ensuring privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold current RBT certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication, observation, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Patient, respectful, and person-centered approach to supporting adults with disabilities.
• Dependable attendance and ability to follow individualized service plans.
• Willingness to participate in supervision and accept feedback.
• Ability to complete background checks and required NJ DDD training.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before start date.
• Reliable transportation to assigned service locations; valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Willingness to work in homes and community settings across NJ.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, one-to-one support based on service plans.
• Implement approved behavior support under BCBA supervision.
• Assist individuals in communication, social, coping, daily living skills.
• Support community participation and meaningful outings.
• Assist with personal care per service plan.
• Promote independence using prompting and positive reinforcement.
• Collect behavioral data and maintain EVV records.
• Follow support plans, supervision, policies, and DDD procedures.
• Report incidents, safety concerns, and changes promptly.
• Communicate professionally with families and clinicians.
• Protect privacy and personal choices.
• Complete required training and documentation timely.
