Job summary

TERI Inc. in Oceanside, CA is seeking a Center for the Arts Behavior Specialist (RBT) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You will implement Behavior Intervention Plans, collect data, train Direct Support Professionals, and ensure high-quality behavioral support across classroom and community settings. Under the supervision of a TERI BCBA, you will also assist with crisis intervention, program operations, and coverage when staffing needs arise, expanding impact

Qualifications

• 3+ years direct experience with significant special needs or a bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and collecting data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and data summaries.
• Ability to coach staff and provide feedback in classroom/community settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans and instructional/active support strategies.
• Mentor and train Direct Support Professionals on behavior support, crisis prevention, TERI standards.
• Collect, analyze, and document behavioral data, progress, incidents, and reports.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using approved techniques to maintain safety.
• Support participant assessments, goal development, and program needs with BCBA and Directors.
• Assist with daily program operations and provide participant coverage when needed.
• Observe staff performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure consistency of care.
