Summary of Maintenance Staff Position:The maintenance staff member is responsible for keeping the restaurant building, both internally and externally, clean, safe, and in orderly condition. This includes performing heavy duty cleaning tasks such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Additional responsibilities may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning debris from sidewalk.Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, restrooms, kitchen spaces, and staff areasSweep, mop, scrub or vacuum restaurant floorsMaintain restaurant security by keeping doors locked during non-business hoursConduct scheduled checks of restrooms, landscaping, windows and entrywaysEnsure parking lot, landscape, and back dock areas are clean and free of debrisReplace interior and exterior light bulbs using appropriate ladders and safety proceduresHigh dust artifacts, air conditioning ducts, ledges and bar cagesClean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate cleaning solutions and toolsFollow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixturesNotify management of major repair needs or issues with building systemsMaintain a clean and safe environment by reporting any unsafe procedures or conditions to managementBe available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or directorKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Understanding of basic cleaning techniques, tools, and productsAwareness of safe chemical handling and proper storage proceduresUnderstanding of workplace safety practices and hazard reportingAble to communicate clearly and effectively with team membersAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfactionQualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderPrevious cleaning or maintenance experience preferredBasic knowledge of dining room operations and service proceduresMust be authorized to work in the U.S.Work Environment / Physical Demands:Expected to keep work location a safe and healthy work environment.
