Summary of Host/Hostess Position:The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests promptly upon arrival and welcoming them to their dining experience with warmth and professionalism. This role includes seating guests, presenting menus, and ensuring each interaction is friendly, timely, and aligned with our hospitality standards.Licensing Requirements:Valid Food Handlers CertificationDuties & Responsibilities:Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrivalMaintains a constant focus on opening the front door for all guests entering or exiting the restaurantWhen immediate seating is unavailable, record guest names and party sizes accuratelyProvide guests with estimated waiting timeNotify guests by calling out their name and party size when tables become availableAnswer phone calls professionally, following hospitality standardsAccommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possibleSeat guest based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stationsUpon seating guests, present menus and inform them of their assigned server’s name. Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and fully prepared, inspecting for completeness and presentation standardsRelay messages to servers and bussers as neededMust maintain a clean service areaConduct scheduled checks of restrooms, landscaping, windows and entrywaysThank guests as they leave and invite them to returnKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent customer service and hospitality skillsStrong communication and interpersonal abilitiesAble to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team membersAbility to manage guest wait lists and provide accurate wait time estimatesAbility to multitask and stay organized and work efficiently in a fast paced environmentProfessional, friendly demeanor with guests and team membersAbility to work effectively with servers, bussers, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operationsBasic phone etiquette and customer service skillsQualifications:Minimum 17 years of ageRestaurant experience in hospitality environment preferred, but not requiredExhibit a polished, professional appearance and provide exceptional hospitality with a consistently positive attitudeMust be a team player and be able to work in fast paced environmentMust be authorized to work in the U.S.Work Environment / Physical Demands:Expected to keep work location a safe and healthy work environment. Utilize basic safety measures to keep the work environment safe. Report any safety concerns to your supervisor.
